Mikhail Parfentev, representing Azerbaijan, participated in the Open Data Charter's Implementation Working Group call, part of their Open Data Open House series for March 2025. The event, coinciding with open data day/month celebrations, brought together experts and practitioners from around the globe to discuss advancements and trends in open data.

During the call, Mikhail Parfentev provided a comprehensive overview of the open data landscape in Azerbaijan. His presentation highlighted the development of the country's national open data portal, which is now in its third version. He detailed the portal's key features, including API access and a data request form, emphasizing Azerbaijan's commitment to engaging both data publishers and consumers. Mr. Parfentev also noted the integration of open data into strategic documents and digital public infrastructure within Azerbaijan.

The Open Data Charter's Implementation Working Group call also featured presentations from Lucas Pretty of the Open Knowledge Foundation, who gave a roundup of open data day celebrations worldwide, and Louisa Medina of Colombia, who presented Colombia's open data strategy. The session included community updates and a Q&A segment, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among participants. The Open Data Charter shared their action plan for the year, highlighting focus areas like AI and data rights. The next session is scheduled to focus on building capacities for open data professionals, including training on AI, privacy, and governance.
